Monday last week was the official deadline for Cross4Healths call, where small to medium sized companies could seek funding for innovation support and development of new products and services in healthcare. The goal of the project is to transfer technical progress within the aerospace, energy or creative sector to seek new solutions to needs and challenges in the health care sector.
65 applications from all over Europe where submitted before the deadline, of which 15 have a Swedish project partner. Furthermore, an impressive amount of the Swedish companies involved are based in Skåne and a record number of the submitted applications came from companies within the gaming and design sector.
– We are thrilled to see so many Swedish companies actively participate in these applications. An application has both the potential to increase financial value for the companies as well as it gives the chance to develop unique solutions together with actors from other industries and countries. Some examples of exciting suggestions are patient platforms incorporating gamification or new logistics systems with the potential to enhance quality in the Swedish healthcare, says Magnus Wallengren, project manager for Cross4Health Sweden at Innovation Skåne.
Innovation Skånes Magnus Wallengren is project manager for Cross4Health Sweden, the project that aims to create innovative solutions that enhance personalized health care from a multidisciplinary approach.
The 65 participants compete to obtain 55k€ in funding by addressing specific challenges within healthcare logistics, long-distance patient support and early diagnosis. An award from Cross4Health also includes a spot in the acceleration program, with the aim to support the new companies and products with value-creating activities during 9 months.
All applications received will now be evaluated, with planned allocation decisions in mid-April.
Cross4Health unlocks the collaborative potential of Aerospace and Energy SMEs leveraged on Biotechnology, ICT and Medical Devices sectors for the generation of innovative solutions that enhance patient-centred personalized care. Cross4Health will select innovative project ideas to accelerate and further support monetarily and with innovation services. Magnus Wallengren leads Innovation Skånes participation.
